Realise your potential; your possibility…
Express yourself in all that you are…
Deepen self-awareness and self-acceptance…
Celebrate your creativity…. and have fun!

What I have come to realise over many years of movement experience is that we all already know.... when to move, when to be still and how to express whatever exists in awareness in any given moment. What we need is the permission and the space to tune into ourselves and to just be.

Dance of Awareness (DoA) is a new approach to working with movement and dance where awareness provides the ground for our experience. The emphasis is on contacting our deeper levels of being, and trusting our own body wisdom. The structure is similar to the 5 Rhythms wave, but the underlying principles are grounded in psychodynamic theory and developmental psychology. The DoA cycle (sensing, grounding, expressing, releasing, connecting, completing) moves you through a wave of energy, with a gentle focus on body awareness, following impulses and allowing free expression. You are welcome to move in whatever way feels right for you.

Our feelings and thoughts about our life are mirrored in our body. Using breath and movement we can discover old patterns and limitations held in the body-mind relating to our formative years. By paying attention to these patterns and allowing them to move, we can create new possibilities for being, moving and relating. We do this by connecting to ourselves, expressing who we really are, releasing what is holding us back, and integrating new or recovered aspects of ourselves.
